Riot Games - независимый создатель компьютерных игр со штаб квартирой в городе Санта-Моника в Калифорнии.

Зарегистрированная в 2006 году Riot Games выпустила в октябре 2009 года игру в стиле Action RTS — League of Legends (LoL, рус. Лига Легенд).

Riot Games собрала для создания игры примерно 20 миллионов долларов инвестиций. В начале 2011 года китайская фирма Tencent Holdings приобрела основную часть акций Riot Games. Riot Games будет оставаться независимым предприятием под управлением прежнего руководящего состава. В 2009 компания разделила игроков по регионам, но это не значит, что игроки из Европы не смогут играть на сервере в США. Распространение игры осуществляется фирмой самостоятельно. В Европе у Riot Games открыта штаб квартира в Дублине.

История

2006 год, Riot Games,Inc была основана Брандоном Беком (Brandon Beck) и Марком Мерриллом (Marc "Tryndamere" Merrill)
2009 год, представлена игра League of Legends.
2011 год, Tencent Holdings приобретает акции Riot Games.
Январь 2012 года, анонс официальной русской версии Лига Легенд.
Февраль 2012 года, зарегистрировано более 30 млн. игроков League of Legends. Активно играют 11.5 миллионов.
